error configuring glib-1.2.8

i'm trying to install php4 from the ports packages on fbsd5.1, every time i type "make" i get this error:

./configure: 4584: Syntax error: end of file unexpected (expecting "then")
configure: error: ./configure failed for glib-1.2.8

it tells me to email u the config.log in pkgconfig-0.15.0 and a list of the packages i have installed.

i have tried downloading the file myself off teh internet but i still get the same error when i try to install it.  thanks for any help.
