after i read this, i checked all installed ports and found, that atk
was installed in two different version. So I removed the older
version (atk-1.0.3) and kept the newer one (atk-1.4.1_1). An
up-to-date list of installed ports is attached. Now I´m just a little
further, because when starting GNOME, I get can see a message box
containing the following error:

--8<---
There was an error starting the GNOME Settings-Daemon.

Some things, such as themes, sounds or background settings
may not work correctly.

The Settings-Daemon restartet too many times.

The last error message was:

Failed to read from child process: Inappropriate ioctl for device

GNOME will try still to restart the Settings Daemon next time
you log in.
--->8--

On the console I get another error message:

--8<---
/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libatk-1.0.so.0" not found
/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libatk-1.0.so.0" not found
