galeon new folders don't open

4.8-stable and ports asd of three days ago (but this problem is a
month or three old).

if i ^B and  create a new folder in galeon, the new folder does
not have a little triangle to the left of it, and i can not drag
and drop anything into it.  it just sits there.

a minute or three after trying to d&d into it, while i am far
away in another workspace, i get what look like drag and drop
flashes across the desktop.
