How did you apply the patch? I can't reproduce:

  $ poudriere ports -l | fgrep default
  default      portsnap  2017-10-03 23:37:30 /poudriere/ports/default

  $ cd /poudriere/ports/default

  $ patch -Efsp1 -i /path/to/ff57.diff

  $ poudriere testport -j 103amd64 www/firefox

Perhaps, you've bumped into a poudriere bug.
