Hello all,
I noticed Firefox 49 on FreeBSD 10.3 seems to have a minor bug. Upon
running Firefox, the initial start page has a pop up banner at the
bottom informing me that firefox sends back some information to help
make firefox better, and offering a button to "Choose What I Share".
However, the Preferences / Advanced / Data menu shows up blank with
nothing there.
my uname -a:
FreeBSD [Redacted] 10.3-RELEASE-p7 FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-p7 #0: Thu Aug
11 18:37:29 UTC 2016
root at amd64-builder.daemonology.net:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386
my ident /usr/ports/www/firefox/Makefile
/usr/ports/www/firefox/Makefile:
$FreeBSD: tags/RELEASE_10_2_0/www/firefox/Makefile 392767

It should be noted I installed firefox via pkg rather than building
from ports
The bug should be reproduceable on BSD 10.3 with XFCE a desktop
environment by installing firefox with:
sudo pkg update
sudo pkg install firefox
firefox #(or opening firefox via the XFCE graphical shell)
I hope this minor bug can be fixed without too much headache. If I find
the time to get familiar with the firefox code base, I will fix it
myself. If you all get to it first, then thanks in advance!
Best wishes
Greg
