ZFS backwards compatibility broken from FreeBSD 11.3 to 10.3

Hello,

I'm trying to send a ZFS snapshot from FreeBSD 11.3 to 10.3, and ZFS hangs on the receive.  The snapshot that is being sent is the zroot snapshot in order to upgrade from 10.3 to 11.3.  I have seen a ZoL commit with regards to a fix for backwards compatibility - https://github.com/zfsonlinux/zfs/issues/6507.  But it isn't clear if FreeBSD received a fix.  Can somebody please provide some guidance as to how to fix this?
