How to take down a system to the point of requiring a newfs with one line of C (userland)

Hi.  Have you used growfs on your filesystem at any point in time?  The only
time I've experienced Strange Things Happening with UFS filesystems in 6.x
was after (possibly mis)using growfs on them.
