Hotplug?

Hello!
Perhaps this is more of a filesystem question but I thought that maybe
firewire-users have heard this question before.

I intend to buy an external firewire harddisk as a cheap backup for my
customers FreeBSD-server. Does FreeBSD support hotplugging of fire-wire
harddisks? (That is: Can I remove it while the filesystem is in use
without unmounting it?) - Or should I go with some different kind of
solution?
