Making disk IO place nicely in a guest (VirtualBox)

Actually, even with the ahci sata controller, the guest will eventually 
panic.  I tried a FreeBSD guest on a Linux Virtualbox hypervisor and it 
did not panic the guest.  Disk IO was consistent.
