vbox-4.0.8: are guests supposed to see USB devices?

The only luck I've had is with WinXP as well, and the devices were extremely
slow (anything but HCI device would probably be unusable).  I couldn't even
get simple speakers to work without being extremely choppy on a Core2Duo at
2.4 Ghz.
