AFAIK you need at least linux_base-f8 or linux_base-f10 installed.

I also have
OVERRIDE_LINUX_BASE_PORT=f8
OVERRIDE_LINUX_NONBASE_PORTS=f8
in /etc/make.conf.

In addition you must set compat.linux.osrelease=2.6.16 and, if you're running
on AMD64, compat.linux32.maxssiz=4194304 in /etc/sysctl.conf.
