Running "Windows Emulation" headless ... possible?

Is that addressed using the tap interface, as Scott mentioned?

Also, just curious, but what is the performance like?  I have one application 
that I need to run, so I'm kinda hoping that maybe it will work with wine 
without all of the extra Windows overhead, but if it doesn't ...
