compat.linux.osrelease is 2.6.32 on 10.3-RELEASE or later, which is, on all
currently supported versions. 

The part about setting

# printf "compat.linux.osrelease=2.6.18\n" >> /etc/sysctl.conf
# sysctl compat.linux.osrelease=2.6.18

can be deleted.
