 I am still unsure of what the issue you are trying to point out is. As 
 far as I can tell, the sentence "A custom kernel often uses less memory 
 than the GENERIC kernel by omitting unused features and device drivers." 
 is perfectly valid English and it explains that a kernel without 
 unneeded drivers uses less memory. Omitted, or omitting, means to not 
 include.
 Can you please try to explain in greater detail what the issue is?
