The document in handbook/multimedia mentions /boot/loader.conf.
I think loadable modules are "not" listed in /boot/loader.conf,
but default setting of available loadable modules are listed
in /boot/defaults/loader.conf.
There is no SGML variables bottom of document.
I am sorry to be awkward English.
