textproc/py-libxml2

I am trying to fix the port comms/chirp, and textproc/py-libxml2
fails to configure on 13-CURRENT amd64.  I have attached config.log

These are the error messages from make build:

checking for suffix of object files... configure: error: in
`/pd/ports/pt/textproc/py-libxml2/work-py37/libxml2-2

.9.10':

configure: error: cannot compute suffix of object files: cannot
compile

Please report the problem to desktop at FreeBSD.org [maintainer] and
attach the

"/pd/ports/pt/textproc/py-libxml2/work-py37/libxml2-2.9.10/config.log"

including the output of the failure of your make command. Also,
it might be

a good idea to provide an overview of all packages installed on
your system

(e.g. a /usr/local/sbin/pkg-static info -g -Ea).
