LightDM on FreeBSD

Greetings,
I've been using x11/slim for quite some time with my XFCE desktop. To be
honest, I was looking for something a bit more prettier than slim. At
the same time, I decided that I didn't want to install GDM, so I decided
that porting LightDM would be beneficial for desktop users.
I've managed to do some preliminary porting for lightdm, including
getting the application under ports and having it compile and install.
However, getting it to run seems to be more difficult. Apparently the
FreeDesktop people made LightDM dependent on Plymouth, a desktop utility
full of linux-isms.
So right now I'm wondering if porting LightDM would be a good idea. If
it is, I'm looking for help from experienced developers (possibly even
folks from x11@) to help me port this monster.
You can find my work-in-progress here:

Thanks,
Kevin Zheng
