Oracle 10g installation problem

I've been down this road before FYI, and tried to follow this tutorial
5 or 6 times.... tried hacking the Oracle makefiles and I've come to
the conclusion this must be bogus. it seems to jump out of
linux-compat somewhere and it will hose the install looking for dlopen()
