| NVH Testing and costs reduction: Pro-series solutions for field data acquisition, screening and export within CAE solutions |

While developing a new project or a revision of an existing one using CAE, it becomes necessary sooner or later to perform tests and feed-back the data into the CAE. Testing can be costly in terms of human resources and time, so the interest is to cut down time and costs by using "highly customized" devices perfectly tailored to a specific need.
To the question: "Do we need a device for each application?" the answer is: "Possibly not....!
Thanks to more than 40 years experience in NVH testing and solutions development, 01dB-Metravib is presenting the NetdB PRO-series packages for field data acquisition and analysis with complete export and interaction features required by most commonly used CAE environments.
The PRO-series packages use the "same" hardware platforms (dB4 and NetdB mainly) and are "portable" in
all senses. And what makes the real difference is the possibility to easy customize the test using the "same" software bundle: dBFA suite 4.8.1.
On top of standard features like sensors database management, defining/saving set-ups, graphical results or reporting in MS-Office? environment, the new very interesting feature is the effective control of dBFA suite by MS-Office? applications, i.e. MS-Excel?.
In practice, upon measurement set-ups for FFT, 1/n octaves, orders, overall levels, etc. - from the Excel interface, with or without Macros, it is possible to control the measurement
in dBFA and receive data directly into an Excel spreadsheet. The received data can be directly processed using Excel functions, Macros, Graphics, etc. or stored into an MS-office? database, or even sent to your R&D Lab through Internet connections!
Communications between MS-Office? and dBFA are not using complicated functions, just a very simple set of TCP commands which are also available for your own applications written
in Visual Basic, C, C , C#, etc.
