I think your nodevice list isn't quite complete. Grepping for snd_ in
i386 and amd64 GENERIC, I come up with this list:
snd_cmi # CMedia CMI8338/CMI8738
snd_csa # Crystal Semiconductor CS461x/428x
snd_emu10kx # Creative SoundBlaster Live! and Audigy
snd_es137x # Ensoniq AudioPCI ES137x
snd_hda # Intel High Definition Audio
snd_ich # Intel, NVidia and other ICH AC'97 Audio
snd_via8233 # VIA VT8233x Audio
