Current 9 freeze after ATA PseudoRAID loaded on AMD64 smp during boot

I've had similar problems in the last few days.  Both complete freezes and 
kernel panics.   I've gotten it to work fine with a GENERIC kernel compiled 
without SMP support.  Can you give that a shot?
