Yes, same as www/firefox the www/chromium has TWO possible AUDIO backends, ALSA
and pulseaudio, sound works ok with ALSA, pulseaudio is not needed.
I also filled a BUG for www/firefox that also 'suddenly' has pulseaudio enabled
by default: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=216383
