Many types of games are played world-wide, some of them more
widespread than others. Some do not require any translation (e.g.,
Chess), although the players may have some problems communicating
with each other if they don't share a common language.

In the case of both Scrabble and Monopoly, I can show you Dutch
and French language versions, and I'm sure they're not the only games
that are played world-wide but are localized to the specific
languages being spoken/understood/written/read in a particular
country or region.

As far as language is concerned, I do not see how this issue is
relevant to these two particular games.
