OK, so to add more oddness to this.

I've just burned
FreeBSD-13.0-CURRENT-powerpc-powerpc64-20190822-r351363-disc1.iso

and its booted to the installer fine on my G5Q!

This was without usefdt=1 as well which I normally need - checked in the shell
and all CPU's etc were showing!
