Bug in FreeBSD 7 Kernel ?

It's not clear to me what the issue is (or is claimed to be).  Some
comments say file descriptor passing is broken, some of them say it is
a bug in the third party code, some of them say there is a thread
library problem (but the error 'mutex is already on list' indicates
it's a mis-compiled binary).

Can we get a clear statement of the bug report please? :)
