First of all, Thank you. Not really getting anywhere with this.
I have been to that page at least ten times :| , anyway I had seen there
are also what appears to be allowances for different settings with the
framebuffer.http://elinux.org/RPi_Framebuffer#Format_of_GPU_Framebuffer_Structure
Additionally I was thinking that I could set the terminal to a different
setting. lines and columns as per termcap, hadn't gotten through that
yet. Because realistically the best results I have obtained are no
better than the image without tinkering. Particularly the initial
stages of boot.
