Building pkg on BeagleBone / Raspberry Pi

I've tried to build a number of ports on BeagleBone; some built
very easily, some not so.  I have not specifically tried building
pkg.

At this point, anyone trying to use FreeBSD on one of these
platforms should expect to spend some time debugging
issues of this sort.
