To summarize everything:
To install X server and gnome,
# pkg install xorg
# pkg install gnome2
# pkg install nano
# nano /etc/fstab
============================================
proc /proc procfs rw 0 0
============================================
To enable gdm,
# nano /etc/rc.conf
=============================================
gdm_enable="YES"
gnome_enable="YES"
=============================================
The following command is to allow startx to be executed.
# echo "/usr/local/bin/gnome-session" > ~/.xinitrc
To allow regular user to su to root,
# pw groupmod wheel -m teo-en-ming
To use hal and to enable the hal daemon hald,
# nano /etc/rc.conf
=============================================
dbus_enable="YES"
hald_enable="YES"
========================================
To remount the root filesystem in read-write mode in single user mode,
# mount -u -o rw /
# mount -a
