why does UATA/133 == UATA/100 on amd64?

Greetings,
After _finally_ making the correct decisions to install amd64 on an
AMD64 system. I was able to make/build/install world && kernel, I see
a difference in drive recognition.
GENERIC kernel from DVD install:
kernel: ata3: New devices: 00000001
kernel: ata3-master: pio=PIO4 wdma=WDMA2 udma=UDMA133 cable=40 wire
kernel: ad6: 476940MB <Seagate ST3500630AS 3.AAK> at ata3-master SATA300
kernel: ad6: 976773168 sectors [969021C/16H/63S] 16 sectors/interrupt 1
depth queue
NY KERNEL after build/install world/kernel:
kernel: ata3: New devices: 00000001
kernel: ata3-master: pio=PIO4 wdma=WDMA2 udma=UDMA133 cable=40 wire
kernel: ad6: setting UDMA100
kernel: ad6: 476940MB <Seagate ST3500630AS 3.AAK> at ata3-master UDMA100
SATA 3Gb/s
kernel: ad6: 976773168 sectors [969021C/16H/63S] 16 sectors/interrupt 1
depth queue
Did I mention I'm using a STATA cable (like I have a choice).
Anyway, interestingly enough, the UATA/133 40Gb PATA drive is correctly
recognized in both GENERIC, and MY kernel.
The KERNCONF I used is @ https://ultimatedns.NET/XIII_2.gz
In case anyone can see something I did wrong.
System details are in my "SIG" @ the bottom of this email.
Thank you for all your time and consideration.
