ata(4) problem (unable to burn CDs)

Thank you, Conrad
but I've done all of these suggestions except for the suid bit but it's the same with it also
anyway I've experimented with various options in the BIOS and I got it working
so for the archive:
if you have SATA CD/DVD burner
with either Intel P965 northbridge or ICH8 southbridge ... or both
set in the BOIS
SATA Configuration [Enhanced]
Configure SATA as [AHCI]
