Hi

I've been following this thread for a while. I wonder if I can help solve the
problem. I (probably) have most of the pieces necessary to do some tests:
one HP workstation (an xw9400) affected with the smap problem
one old PC with several OSes on it, including a working installation of FreeBSD
6.2-stable

I don't have any experience in developing FreeBSD kernel code (or, I guess in
this case, the boot loader code).

Does anyone have a potted guide to betting started with cross-compiling the boot
code and building a boot CD (or floppies)?
