I have had similar problems with an amd64 laptop (Athlon64 Mobile). If it is
running full-bore (2.2GHz), then it will shut itself off or reboot itself
while compiling or doing heavy processing of data. If I knock the speed down
to 1.6GHz, the system is perfectly stable. I am guessing that the system
(under Windows) was not meant to be run at full-speed all the time.
