So does the Athlon64 (even the single core and socket 754 ones)

That also isn't true for Athlon64 any more. Every Athlon64 CPU comes with a 
heat spreader installed. I don't think Opteron 1xx are of a higher standard 
than their Athlon64 counterpart. Some Opteron models are even cheaper than the 
Athlon64 equivalent.
