bad instability on FreeBSD/amd64 6.0

No stability problems here with AMD64, and I ran heavy loads.

The only problem I noticed are a couple broadcom GbE chips which
require to be loaded as a module, not compiled in, or vice versa.  But
who uses these anyway?
