AFAIK, FreeBSD nor Xorg supports PCI-Express yet.

Avoid nForce chipsets; they don't work well with most free OS/s.

Anything with a VIA K8T800 will work well. I've used an MSI NEO FSR
(MS-6702) and a Asus A8V DeLuxe, and they both work.

Probably not. For supported 3D, get a Radeon 9250. It's the latest
supported by the DRI infrastructure in the kernel and Xorg.
