See the thread "Tyan k8sr lockups" on this very list from earlier this 
month.  You have to be doing *very* heavy network + very heavy disk i/o 
at the same time to cause instability.  once I replaced it with an 
intel NIC it has been 100% stable (going on 2 weeks now and ever 
increasing load)
