I can't speak to the 64-bit cleanness, but the 'amr'
[e.g. intel http://www.intel.com/design/servers/buildingblocks/raid.htm]
are available in pci-express and work well, monitoring
works as well [http://people.freebsd.org/~emoore/MegaRAID_SCSI/]
