All,

I have isolated the crash to the following dd command:

	dd if=/dev/mem of=/dev/null bs=1024k skip=4040 count=1

I'm trying to think of a way to obtain more diagnostics. It looks like 
truss is broken due to the the lack of /proc in 5.3. I'll compile a 
kernel with procfs and see if I can obtain more detail trussing the dd.

I really need guidance from the list on how to proceed and obtain more 
debugging info.
