alpha/67626 w/ 6.3-RELEASE (Re: alpha/67626: X crashes an alpha machine, resulting reboot)

I had this problem with xorg-server for a while (on a PC164). It turned 
out to be due to bad RAM. Replacing all 4 DIMMs with matched sticks 
solved the problem beautifully. Using the xorg vesa driver also worked.
