EV8 = Intel Core-Duo = "Alpha Inside"
Since I've retired, I'm not as current on things as I once was, but
to me, the "not-yet-quite-released" Intel Core-Duo chips (the follow-
on to the chips Apple is currently using; those with the full 64-bit
instruction set enabled) are clearly the result of Intel's
acquisition of the Alpha design team and technology they acquired in
the death-throes of Compaq.
