Nope. (I should have made the clear in the first post, sorry.) I have
a working FreeBSD 6-STABLE on a SCSI disk connected to the onboard
controller. The kernel config is attached.

There are two sockets for flash ROMs on the card: U34 and U47. U34 is
empty, and U47 is labled:
