I'll be happy to report back with before/after results, although I don't
have high hopes for something as IO-intensive as building world. No matter
what I do, my SCSI system is glacial. Still, I'll do what I can.

Anyway, does anyone know where I can score some cache SIMMs? I've been
reading through the motherboard manual, but the most detailed description of
the part I can find is "L2 cache SIMM". Is there only one type of such a
thing? I've fired off a message to Kingston, but I don't have great
expectations (either "What? eBay, kid!" or "Sure! Those are $399+s/h
each. Got a credit card?").
