Dedicated disks from a sparc64/-CURRENT system into an Alpha

I'm not really a big Sparc64 or Alpha expert, but I think you're 
running into the troubles of
different byte-ordering issues. AFAIK Sparc64 is big-endian and Alpha 
is little-endian, so
exchanging disks between these architectures won't work without some 
extra programming effort...
