vr0: watchdog timeout

The machine in question has a VIA EPIA CL motherboard with the BIOS at
the latest version:
http://www.viavpsd.com/product/epia_cl_spec.jsp?motherboardId=181
I originally installed 5.2.1-Release which worked without problem. I
then cvsuped to current (at 12 June 22:13 BST) rebuilt world and a
custom kernel
and started getting the error "vr0: watchdog timeout" on the console
and there was no networking, by which I mean I could not ping anything.
The card vr0 was still correctly listed in the output of ifconfig -a.
Placing hint.acpi.0.disabled="1" in /boot/loader.conf has got things
working again so I assume it is some kind of ACPI problem.
I've put the debugging information suggested in the handbook at
http://moose.org.uk/~tab/
Is there anything else I can try?
thanks,
Tom.
