Ports are meant to depend on each other, so that when you for example fix a
vulnerability in expat, all the ports that use expat profit from the
fix automatically.
When using static linkage, you will not get that benefit.

Note, if being 'static' is what makes 'sysutils/mstflint-lite' is the
main ingredient, I think
calling that port "-lite" instead of "-static" does a disservice to
the end-user :)

You can easily get that to build again by just toggling the option on for now.
