If you are used to RPN (eg HP calculators), this isn't too difficult.

"Starting Forth" is probably the best, but (AFAIK) it's out of print.
(Though the follow-on - "Thinking Forth" - is now an open-source project
at http://thinking-forth.sourceforge.net/).  Neither of these count as
"short" (though "Thinking Forth" makes interesting reading from a
general software engineering perspective).

There are a couple of primers/tutorials linked from
http://ficl.sourceforge.net/links.html - though I haven't actually
used any of these.
