Are you sure that the bug you're seeing isn't the one that was fixed
by this commit:

des at dwp /sys/boot/i386/boot0% ncvs log -r1.27 boot0.s
[...]

Update the size of the OS string table that wasn't updated in the previous
commit that removed the UNIX entry.
