Boris is on a business trip until tomorrow, so I answer. Previous to
this commit we discussed parts of it. We got side tracked by "BROKEN
or IGNORE?" while knowing about the expiration date. We where aware
about the date and discussing it with the maintainer was on the TODO
list (my intend was to coordinate with the appearance of the native
port).
Aside from this, I don't think this expiration date hurts. Currently
the port can not be used (see the content of the PR). All we need to
do is to get the native version into the ports tree.
Bye,
Alexander.
