Hi,
I'm trying to run a patch for the first time. I must be doing something
obviously wrong. I downloaded aic7xxx-5.1.16-2.0.36.patch, then I tried
the patch command like this:
[root at reliant pcmcia]# cd /usr/src
[root at reliant src]# patch -b linux/drivers/scsi/aic7xxx.c linux/drivers/scsi/aic7xxx-5.1.16-2.0.36.patch
patching file `linux/drivers/scsi/aic7xxx.c'
Hunk #1 FAILED at 1622.
1 out of 1 hunk FAILED -- saving rejects to linux/drivers/scsi/aic7xxx.c.rej
can't find file to patch at input line 158
Perhaps you should have used the -p or --strip option?
The text leading up to this was:
--------------------------
|diff -U 3 -rN linux-2.0.36/drivers/pci/pci.c linux/drivers/pci/pci.c
|--- linux-2.0.36/drivers/pci/pci.c Fri Jan 8 23:07:07 1999
|+++ linux/drivers/pci/pci.c Tue Mar 23 01:26:36 1999

File to patch:
What am I doing wrong?
