Is it a problem related to firmware of aic7895?

Gee, that seems rude. Are we cranky today? :)

I have an interest in versions as well, because my Linux (ASUS P2B/DS, one
400MHz CPU installed) box running latest&greatest RH5.2 and AIC drivers
won't boot to an ultra-2 drive, though it reads and writes fine, and runs
fine if booted from a narrow drive with root = /dev/sdb1 (the ultra2
drive). So if there's a SCSI firmware issue, I'd like to know about it.
The system starts to say "LILO" but either says "LI" and hangs, or "L 01 01
01 01 01......" indefinitely, depending on something which I forgot over
the weekend.
